So often when we think of home health care, we think of long-term care for those with life-threatening ailments or those who are at an advanced age. But home health care is that and so much more. Home health care workers are not “one size fits all.” Each of our clients has his or her own specific needs. We take great pride in the fact that we individually match our home health care workers to our clients.
The Benefits of Doing Physical Therapy at Home
One of the wonderful services offered by Champion Home Health Care is that of physical therapy. Physical therapy can be needed by people of any age due to birth issues, car accidents, or aging among other causes. You may need physical therapy someday! One never knows.
More Privacy
Our physical therapists can come to your home. This is great for those who have no way to get to a physical therapy office or who are simply more comfortable doing their therapy in the privacy and comfort of their own home. We understand that. If you have never been through physical therapy yourself, then you may not have thought about what a personal process it can be.
Freedom to Express Feelings
Depending on the issues being treated, physical therapy can be very challenging and even painful. The road to healing and recovery is not always an easy one. Some people may feel like yelling out in pain or frustration. Others may cry. Others may get angry. And, still, others may handle it in complete silence. But, being able to express yourself in whatever way you need to in order to get through your session and taking one more step toward your recovery is important. If being in your own home helps with that, then we are more than ready and willing to meet that need.
Long-Term Home Health Care
For some, physical therapy may be a lifelong process as the person may need to keep muscles from atrophy and help combat muscle tightness in such cases as cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy. Others may only need it temporarily to help correct things like torticollis at birth which causes tightness of the muscles on one side of the neck causing the baby’s head to tilt or turn to one side. This is a correctable condition through physical therapy. Others may need it temporarily or long-term due to the effects of a car accident. Whatever the cause, physical therapy is a wonderful tool for helping you to achieve the best possible outcome.
